Founded in 1908, Marianopolis is a private English-language college in Montreal specializing in pre-university education for about 2,000 students. Our mission is to prepare students to pursue academic excellence, become self-directed lifelong learners and make positive contributions to their communities and the world.  Our vision is to be the leading college in Quebec, encouraging innovative pedagogy and providing a diverse student community with exceptional learning experiences that are intellectually, personally and socially transformative.

We lay claim to an unmatched, century-old track record of excellence. Providing the best university preparation is part of our unique heritage. Whether it’s the academic strength of our incoming students, our unparalleled ability to graduate students on-time and have some 90 percent of them gain acceptance to their first-choice university, or our students’ top R-Scores, our success metrics speak for themselves.

We offer a stimulating and supportive atmosphere geared to student success. Our classes are, on average, 25% smaller than at public colleges. Many of our faculty and staff have masters and doctorates from the world’s top universities as well as on-the-ground experience in their areas of expertise. They get to know students personally and provide easily accessible one-on-one support every school day. All Marianopolis employees know that their No. 1 purpose is to help students succeed.

We enrich the student experience inside and outside the classroom. Our Honours ScienceHonours Social Science and Honours Commerce programs provide the most motivated students an opportunity to cultivate their passion and talent within a stimulating and creative framework. Our Certificates, unique to Marianopolis, enable students to enrich their understanding of a specific theme while they complete the requirements of their DEC. We are also the only college to hold a universal break, called Activity Period, twice a week, when students can hear from world renowned guest speakers, play intramural sports, participate in our many enriching opportunities or get involved in our over 100 student-run clubs (we have more than any other college).

As for tuition, yes, we charge it. We are partially funded by the government and tuition is what allows us to provide an unparalleled educational experience. We also offer scholarships and other kinds of financial support to many students each year.

We call all this “The Marianopolis Edge.” And by that we mean a unique combination of academic rigour, personalized support and vibrant student life.
