The Marianopolis College Class of 2022 Convocation held on Saturday, September 10 was an afternoon filled with pride and joy, as hundreds of graduates gathered to celebrate this important milestone in their academic life alongside their families and members of the College community. Not long ago, the Class of 2022 entered Marianopolis as high school students, chosen from over 170 institutions across the province and abroad. Now they leave us united as Marianopolis alumni and as accomplished young adults, ready to continue their studies at universities across the globe.

In reflecting on her Marianopolis experience, valedictorian Allison Engo, now a pre-Med student at McGill University, had these words to say in gratitude:

“I know that the pandemic wasn’t only hard on us students. I remember speaking to some of my teachers who felt isolated at home, missing the feeling of one of the most important parts of their job ― interacting with their students. So, to the professors at Marianopolis: thank you for being incredibly caring and understanding. Your passion for the material you taught and your unique personalities came across despite the computer screen or, when we were in person, the mask. […] Thank you for being mentors and role models to us all. We must also thank our Marianopolis staff and administration. Activities, awards and financial aid, learning resources, semesterly surveys — these are just a few of the things that you did to stay connected and involved with students. […] It all goes to show how much care and thought went into making college an enjoyable experience, especially during the trying times of a pandemic.”
