Core Social Science

Core Social Science (300. C1) and Core Social Science with Math (300. C2)
The Core Social Science concentration offers the most comprehensive experience of the social sciences by introducing you to the widest range of disciplines, including Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. As you explore different areas of knowledge, you will discover what you like best and select upper-level courses in your second year that correspond to your newfound interests.
When applying to Core Social Science, students will have the option to select Core Social Science (300. C1) or Core Social Science with Math (300. C2). Students in Core Social Science with Math take Differential Calculus and Linear Algebra in the place of two social science course choices.
Students in the Core Social Science concentrations can apply to Honours after their first semester and are selected based on their academic standing and a letter of intent. Students in the Honours Distinction are enrolled in enriched sections of certain courses and engage more deeply with their program through various activities, including special guest lectures, site visits, group seminars, and social events. Information sessions will be held during the Fall semester to inform students about how to apply.
WHO SHOULD TAKE IT?
